i have Airman thru hull depth finder that came with my 2007 Mainship trawler.it is hooked into a Garmin GPS map 4200 chart plotter. The other day my depth gage stop working.I looked up how to get it to work. I removed the cover and put 2.4 fluid oz of propylene glycol in the base put the transducer cover back on making sure it was level and screwed it down. The depth gage worked after that but once I turned it off and then back on it stop showing the depth.i did this 1/2 dozen times with the same results. Any Idea what I'm doing wrong?Tom

Are you having to refill the transducer each time?

If so, the transducer has a leak and will either need to be glued or replaced. Something like JB Weld works extremely well for that.

I used mineral oil in the Airmar transducer I installed in 2005. It was still working fine when we sold the boat in 2015. Absolutely no maintenance in 10 years.

Transducer

The last time I put antifreeze in was 2 years ago. When I put it in now the depth flashes and once I turn the Garmin off and back on the depth no longer shows up. Tom
