Has anyone removed the light fixtures from the hardtop ceiling? There are for screws which I removed but still can not budge. I inserted plastic putty between the headliner and fixture but still no luck. Has anyone removed them. I would like to replace the bulb over the helm from the white to red.

Yes, they will come out. They come out on my Pilot 30 Hardtop.

I can't picture them in my mind, but have you tried twisting them?

I tried twisting pulling, inserting shims nothing seems to work.
When you removed from the 30 hardtop did you notice the structure that the fixture was set into. Is it wood or solid fiberglass?

I pulled all seven of them from my hardtop to change from incandescent to LED "bulbs." It took a little persuasion with a putty knife to pop them out, but nothing extravgant. It begins to sound to my like some fool used a sealant/adhesive on them or jammed them into a nearly too-small hole. If you do get them out and replace with LEDs, be sure to check for radio interference by turning on the VHF with squelch turned to just the point where static stops and then turning on the LEDs. If the radio static then returns, your LEDs need to be left off when using the radio or some farther electronics magic needs to be installed including shifting to another brand of LED. I have separate swithes for the four lights aft and the three across the forward part of the hardtop. Aft white, forwards red.

Thanks
I guess I have to be a little more aggressive, was afraid of damaging the headliner

Here's a picture from an 07

I removed mine from an 07 Pilot 34 by removing the screws and just prying them gently out. Here's a couple pictures that may help. In one of the pics you can see the plywood backing for the fixture. Once the fixture is out the back twists off to get to the bulb..

Hope this helps,

Brett

Thanks for the picture it really helps to understand how they are installed

My pleasure, I'm too lazy to type the requisite 1000 words.
