Noticed this Mainship for sale in our marina

Don't know if this is the right place but there is a 34' Mainship across the fairway from us that has just had a For Sale sign posted. Asking $17,500 OBO. We've been in this slip for over a year and have never seen anybody aboard. Started to feel sorry for the little boat. It's on a broker dock but a private For Sale sign, strange.

What size and year is the boat? I am looking for a late 1990's 31 or 34 Mainship Sedan with twin engines, preferably Cumming diesels but gas with low mileage ok too

It's a'78 34. Hull looks real nice. Flybridge bimini blew off quite a while ago. If interested PM me and I can get you the phone number. Perkins diesel.

That could be a hell of deal. We owned a 1981 and we still talk about what a great boat it was. I'm sure there a few issues but they should be easily identified. The thing that I liked about these boats were how uncomplicated they were.

I owned a 1978 for 14 years and I still miss that boat. When I get to the point of downsizing it will be to one of those for the reasons above.

Why change if it suits you? Everyone who has had these popular boats seems to love them. Simple systems, widely known "issues" and very economical operations. You probably won't impress the dock neighbors but who cares?

We hope to do the Loop about three years from now. Seems like a 40 foot boat would have more room than a 34 foot boat; and handle larger waves better. These factors are what has got me thinking larger. Maybe the 34 would be adequate.
