My engine hatch struts on a 2002 Mainship Pilot 30 have failed. Does anyone know of a quality replacement gas strut for this hatch. The engine is a 4hla-stp. Also, what size gas strut fits this hatch?

Gas struts should use 3 measurements:

LEngth compressed
Length Extended
Weight (in lbs)

Find one that matches the specs you have now. Most chandlers carry them.

I would add that the connection type on each end may be variable and a factor as well.
