Is helm deck bait well / cooler insulated?

Hi all,
I have a 2000 34 Pilot which has a box at the end of the port side bench that looks like it was set up as a cooler or fish well. I'm thinking of putting in a cold plate to make it a freezer. Has anyone ever done this before and what tips would you have? Hoping it's an insulated box. Thanks.

We used to rent a 34 Pilot of about that vintage out of Sausalito. Nice boat, but on the one we used that space was pure storage, uninsulated. Knock on it from the inside and out, that'll tell ya pretty quick. You can buy generic conversion kits to insulate and cool. You are right over the engine space there as I recall, so insulation is a big must.
