I am planning to purchase a Mainship 34t or 390 in a few years after my three kids are older and more self-sufficient. Due to my job and family schedule I currently have little time to use a boat in the summer months but I do have a lot of free time in the late fall and early spring. So I am contemplating purchasing the boat now and placing it in a charter fleet for the summer months and cruising down and back up the Inter-coastal Waterway each Spring and Fall.
My question is does anyone have input regarding*placing*a boat in a charter fleet? I would be looking at C & C Charters on Kent Island, MD. Some questions I have are...from your experience would the charter income off-set the expense of the boat (assuming there is a loan)? Do boats get really beat up in*charter fleets? Any other input would be appreciated.
Thanks XRC
