Windlass and anchor for 41' President

Currently we have a Rocna 25 (55 lbs) on 5/16 chain rode with no Windlass. We did some research on the Rocna sight and at a gross weight of 20 tons we could choose the current Rocna or the next size up. The Rocna 33 is 73 lbs.
We are always on the hook and WM is offering to accept the trade in so the cost change is a few hundred dollars. One of my questions is what do President owners use for a windlass ? I am biased towards the Lofrans Tigres (horizontal) but the more research I do the more confused I get, lol

I will upgrade the wiring and chain as needed of course.

Your thoughts ?

As I have no Essex Ct experience, so YMMV.

My 22 tons of 44' C&L came to me 25 yrs ago with a Lofrans Tigres 1kw windlass hauling 5/16 chain and a 20kg (44lb) CQR. After 25 yrs with that setup I am still very happy with it. The only deficiency has been dragging when rafted with 3 or 4 other boats that triple the total weight. Doubling the weight has not been a problem.

We installed a Lofrans Tigress 1000 watt on our 40 foot trawler in 2002. It has worked without fault.

Other then the annual servicing, it has not needed repair.

We use a genuine Bruce 66 and 400' of 5/16 HT. Around 466 pounds of ground tackle.
