Marine Trader 48 PH Anchor Locker Rot
Hello all. I have been looking around for a live aboard (but still weekend cruiseable) trawler, and a used '83 MT PH wide body came across my radar. The boat seems (in my unprofessional opinion) to be in fairly good shape but it has a few problems (surprise!). The cockpit has a sizable soft spot, some rails have been pulled off by the wind catching the flybridge cover and finally it looks like plywood from the deck has rotted around a drip from the anchor chain (One of only two leaks I could find in the boat, and the day I toured her it was pouring rain). The deck seems fine from above.
I attached a couple of photos, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the construction of the fore deck on this boat is and point me to what the process would be to repair it. If was to get this boat I wouldn't want that damage to spread to the rest of the deck. I've done some fiberglass work but never worked on what I think is a wooden teak deck.
Thanks!
