Does anyone have experience with vesconite hilube cutlass bearings? I did a quick google search and all I found were glowing reviews from the manufacture and its distributers…. I did find one link to a yachting forum from 2007 that one user recommended it. I’m looking for someone with current firsthand knowledge that doesn’t sell the product.
My yard is recommending it saying I will save “a ton of cash”, for my application about $1000… I’m not made of money and Lord knows I have plenty of places to spend that boat unit, but I’m not willing to cut corners to save a buck.

What's wrong w the standard cutlass bearing?

Nothing is wrong with them… the yard is just saying they are less expensive and last longer… they are suggesting these are better. I’m good with new technology as long as someone else is the guinea pig.

"Lasts Longer" so what?

At 200 hours a year many folks get a decade or two out of common cutlass bearings .

You worry about the cost of a PM item a decade or two away???

A bad cuttlass will rattle your boat till replaced , a bad lubricated bearing will get a visit from the sheen police in every pit stop..
