Has anyone here added a power windlass to their Mainship 36 DC?
Does anything need to be 'beefed-up'?
Any special do's or don'ts?

Thanks in advance

Just joined the forum and found this post.

We added a windless to our ’87 DC when we bought the boat in ’08. They cut the teak at the back of the pulpit and thru bolted a piece of starboard at the rear of the pulpit and mounted the windless on the starboard. I have 200’ of rode but there is room for plenty more. They ran the electric lines up the starboard side and tied it into a pair of group 31’s that I have as the house bank. I did have to get an anchor with a shorter shank to fit properly. I ended up with a Munson Supreme.

Is there anyway that you can take measurements like the size of the starboard and how far from the back of the pulpit is the hole.
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone else have photos of their 36 bowsprit area with a windlass?
I am wondering where others have their cleats located.
