I have had my boat for 11 years, 8 of them in fresh water. For the last 3 years my boat has been in salt water, I have been told it is a "hot" marina, lots of galvanic action. I don't know if this hot marina information is relevant.

I had my raw water pump on my Lehman 2715e, seals, shaft and cover serviced spring of 2018.

My engine zincs are 90%.

After 11 years of owning this boat it is the first time I have noticed white deposits on the out side of my raw water pump cover.

Do you simply remove the cover, clean it up and apply the grease as a new maintenance procedure?

Do I have too much time on my time on my hands and am putting too much thought in this?

Are these salt deposits, galvanic corosion or what?

Could the collective wisdom of the trawler forum supply the answer.

Normal crud for pumps in sea water. Clean it up if it bothers you.
