The alternator on my FL120 went out last year and I ended up pulling it out and taking it to a shop that does alternator rebuilds for autos and trucks. they did an exchange for a unit that was actually higher in output. Be sure the mounting holes line up and a tap for your meter on the helm.

The el. shops down the road weren't able to rescue it, so it needs to be replaced.
I spoke to Brian at American Diesel and he offered an upgrade as well.

All, a little late update. American Diesel delivered the alternator just fine back then. They are true champions for this engine. Highly recommended.
