Hello, after losing out on a previous President 41 I am working towards purchasing a 1983 with twin 135 Volvo diesels.
Is anyone familiar with the fuel burn rate and cruising speed with these engines?
Any concerns as I am having the after coolers serviced and repaired as well as all hoses.
Also, how does the boat handle in larger seas - 4-5 ft swells?
I am new to tis and would appreciate any and all advice.
Many thanks

We have SP225s so I am not really sure what the burn rate will be, but it will be probably in the 2 to 3 gph at around 7 to 8 knots.

We crossed Lake Ontario in 4 to 6 footers from the starboard quarter. We rocked and rolled a bit but was not anywhere near dangerous. So far we love our 41. We have cruised about 2000 miles in it so far. Good luck with it.

We have VOLVO TMD 40 engines in our 36' NOVA sundeck and run at 8.5 knots with a burn rate of 5 GPH. In 4-5' swells with short duration, it does get uncomfortable.

You are absolutely welcome. That is what the forum is here for.
