Hi!!

We decided to live on a boat since we had to sell our home. Our 24, 21 And 18 year old adventurous kids were bummed so we rented an old hunting lodge on the water in our town and bought a 53 ft Lyman-Morse trawler. In perfect shape on the inside, hull and engine. Outside needs finish work on the wood and a paint job.

We have never had a boat with an engine (other than a zodiac) so any tips, help etc is welcome!!

Michelle and Dave

Welcome aboard. You probably need to ask more specific questions. Lots of good info on the site.

Welcome to the forum.
As Comodave said, there is a lot of information here. Try the subject search function to find yhreads of interest.
You may also want to find or get basic reference books and classes to assist you with operating and maintaining your new home.
Local power squadron or Coast Guard classes can be very helpful, as can books like Chapman's Piloting, Seamanship, and Small Boat Handling, for basic info, or Nigel Calder's Boatowners Mechanical and Electrical Manual, for info on your boats systems.
There are many more available, as well as cruising guides.
As you let the forums know more of what your needs, interests, and goals are, more people will advise.
As always, post more pictures, thanks and welcome.

Hunting lodge and trawler sound great. Are you retired or still working? What are your plans for the winter, noting your location is a cold weather area?

Welcome aboard and as you develop specific questions feel free to ask.

Advance Search under the "Search" button is your friend.

IF you're going to live on the boat, what is the purpose of the hunting lodge?
