I saw this pic on the web. It looks like a workable lift that would attach to our Albin 36 transom or swim step or taffrail (not sure which is best) to move outboard to/from dinghy. Anybody got one like it? Or a better idea?

A PO mounted a hoist and O/B motor bracket on the transom. Works well

Garhauer makes a davit that a lot of sailboaters use: https://www.garhauerstore.com/transom-hardware-accessories/lifting-davits.html

But you'd need a separate rail mount elsewhere - it's just for lifting. It does fold up pretty nice, tho.

I have this outboard hoist. Easy to mount. Seems well built. Not crazy expensive.

Same here. Added it to my boat for under $500. I'm very impressed with the Garhauer quality, convenience and value. It folds and collapses for easy storage in the laz.

Garhauer makes good stuff at a good value. If you need something special, call them up and talk to them. They are very accommodating.

We are lookin' for something to lower a 30# outboard motor from the sundeck to our swim step. Most of what we see is overkill.
