On my boat be single liver function seems to randomly switch from one side to the other. When trying to put the micro commander into single lever mode sometimes it does not want to work on the starboard side others times on the port side. Does anyone else have this issue? If so did you fix it for a live with it?

Most of the "problems" on my Micro Commander control has been from lower voltage than required. I resolved several of these issues by replacing the spade clip on the connector boards.

There is an operational sequence that dictates which lever is master and which is slave for the auto sync mode. You may inadvertently be changing between the master/slave/manual control/auto-sync mode.
It's all spelled out in the oper manual, and there are even plastic card cheat sheets available.
