Would like to share some pics from my summer cruise around two nice areas of the South coast of Western Australia. We spent Jan-Mar cruising the harbours inlets and rivers of this pristine area. Albany and Walpole.

1. just slipped and ready to roam Albany
2. cool weather but a nice cuppa helps
3. Whaling was carried out here till late 70's
4. Kalgan River - lunchtime
5. Spent a lot of our time anchored around these bays of Albany
6. The beautiful Franklin River - Walpole
7.Beginning of entrance to Walpole inlet
8. Close to mouth of Nornalup/Walpole inlet and Southern Ocean
9. That white speck is Nimiane anchored in the channel just inside the inlet

Welcome to TF and thanks for sharing the pics with us. It's always nice to see photos of where people use their boats and them having fun aboard.

Thanks for taking us along.

How did the flopper stoppers work on this trip?

John

bogranjac1,
What a beautiful place you hail from! Love your pics. Judging from the pics you'd probably benefit from a canoe. Looks like you eat well and boat well. What else is there?

Mike, bogranjac1 has been around for some time .. not new at all. To your credit though can't miss w a welcome.

Nice area for sure. We used to dive a lot at Denmark, or Torbay to be specific. Very clear water - used to be able to dive to 100' and then look up to see the hull of the boat, and also up the cliffs above water for a bit.

summer -South coast of Western Australia cont.

Just a couple more pics as a few of you have commented on how you enjoyed them.

1. Kalgan river bridge - yup got under it at low tide 2.6 mts clearance.
2. Kalgan river - Australia day
3. the river tender - a nice stable tri hull - no punctures for me, thanks !!
4. King George Sound - off Albany, littered with islands and coves
5. very upper reaches of the Kalgan
6. the Franklin river near Walpole just before it opens up into the in estuary
7. Yes rebel (John) we used the floppers all the time regardless of where we anchored, they work brilliantly.
8. flopper
9. here's a 'blast' from the past......if you can excuse the pun :D
10. the luxurious interior of the 'thunder box' I grew up in Albany and these were in common and still in use at homes. :lol:eek:ur home too !!
