First I must thank everyone of you for your wisdom and generosity. We bought this old boat in New Bern, NC. When the fluid tests came back we wanted to walk away. But we fell in love with her like a foolish teenager seeking love in what we thought was all the wrong places. My Captain Mike, is an apple pie, Ford kind of dude very familiar with gas engines. WOW! when he took the cover off the twin Perkins diesels, he thought, dam they are huge!
A fuel leak he fix thanks to YouTube and a great local mechanic Darrell at Fosters Marine Mobile Mechanics in New Bern.
Captain Mike put his hands all over those engines. Today we left New Bern for our home port in Delaware. She ran like a sweet pea growing on a vine. At 10 knots she only burned 7.75 gallons per hour.
And Captain Mike finally can rest his mind at the beautiful marina Dowery Creek.
A little cooking on the boat makes one content❤️ IMG_1709.JPGIMG_1718.JPGIMG_1731.JPG

Always take care of the Captain or he will throw you overboard! :D

The first of many many memories - they are priceless!

Throttle back to about 7.5 knots and you will get significantly better mileage!!! But alas.....glad y'all had a great trip and congrats on the new acquisition!!!
