Help with tach on Yanmar

I have a 6LYA 3TP on a 400 Mainship and the tack quit today. Upper tack, dead.... lower tack would wiggle a bit.

Where is the tach generator located on the engine. (or whatever you call the sending unit) Gut feeling it's a connection which I want to check.

Im on a trip so would like to get it fixed.

Ideas?

The mag tach pickup is off the flywheel, many times the connection gets corroded, slide off spade connectors and clean and you can tighten them with a pliers.

On my Yanmar 4LH the tach wire is orange. Not sure on yours but it might be worth a look back near the bell housing port side.

I have crawled all over the flywheel area and just see no wires there. Anyone have a pix? Or I could post mine and perhaps someone could point it out.

Learned that it may be two options for the tach generator, but for the life of me can't see it.
