Morse controls "Click"

Hello, I have recently purchased another boat that has twin 210 cummins and it has morse controls they look like MT-3 Top Mount, I am learning to dock just using the throttles, which I am finding pretty easy compared to the single sterndrive I use to have, but what I have found is one of the throttles controls does not make the "click" sound when either put into gear or put into neutral, does anyone know what part of the control I should inspect to see if I can fix the "click"??? it might sound trivial but as I am only learning I find the "click" useful to let me know when it is in gear and not over throttle

Are you sure they are MT3, which are single lever controls? That is shift and throttle in the same lever?

If you have dual lever like Twin S or Twin SR this is the detent kit to get your click:
