Hi All, am new to this as just bought a 36 MT needing lots of work so moved it next to my commercial building for the winter work and within 2 weeks someone came in and stole the rudder.* I did manage to pull the Prop so saved that.*
Question:* Where can I get info on where to either buy or fabricare at Rudder.
Thanks

Bad break! Just curious what was the rudder made of?

Goodness- what on earth would someone want with a rudder?! How weird!!! I think I'd be moving my boat indoors if it's possible!

We get broken into to take the copper, SS and misc. metals to be sold as scrap. **They will take what ever they think is some value and not secured.* Welding cables seem to be their most favorite.* Most of them are homes and/or addicts.* We have Lazar's, listening and cameras around our plant and office.***The police get very excited with dogs , guns, and tsars.* First they let in the dogs which usually find them right away.* By the Lazar's and cameras we can track where they are.

Maybe someone had stolen the thief's rudder.* Sort of a marine version of musical chairs?

Could be allot of bronze there.* Selling a rudder at a scrap yard will buy some dope.* They steal plaques off grave markers for the same purpose.* We had small markers placed in the South end of the Walnut St pedestrian bridge.* There were a few hundred.* They were thin and about 3" x 5".* They had the names*of people and families that contributed to the preservation efforts.* All were taken.*Now they are slowly replacing them with cast aluminum that is screwed down with screws that want back out.* When it is figured out that they can be pried out they may start disappearing again.

Scrap yards should know when they are buying grave markers and commemorative plaques.========but I digress.*

You guys are mak'in me feel really good about living in Alaska. Heard of someone that had food taken out of their fridge in a smaller village than ours. We're almost crime free but we do have some problems***** ...mostly alcohol and drug related. Lots of people leave their cars/trucks running for a half an hour at a time while in a store ect.

Here is one brand of OTS rudders, Duramax also builds them , both will modify to suit for a few extra bucks.

Sit down and have a couple of cool ones before looking at the list price.

Remember most hardware has a 50%+10% discount , so find some OEM to order it factory direct and save big.

Thanks for all the comments. It was Bronze and of course it would bring cash at the scrap yard. I had never thought that someone would steal it but right after that I removed the prop and files a stolen good report that the Police dispatched to ever scrap yard within 25 miles but have heard nothing.
My business takes me to China where I have an office (Shanghai) and I hear that the Taiwan yard that built it is now located in Ningbo(southeast of Shanghai) so could get down there. I am looking for any information that would be helpful including getting any dimensions, drawings etc. The boat has a FL120 in it with a 3-bladed prop if that affects the rudder size.
Anyway thanks for any info you care to offer.

Thanks for the picture. It looks exactly like mine "did".* Is it possible to get some dimensions off of it?* I am hoping that I can contact the "factory" and get a replacement otherwise I would need to look at having one made based on a drawing or some dimensions etc.

Thanks
