I have a Grand Banks 36 with the water heater that heats the water via the engine. My problem is the water temp after running is so hot that we waste fresh water trying to regulate the temp for a shower. I'm looking for some type of temp regulator for the shower valve. Any and all thoughts welcomed. Thanks

Watts and Honeywell make thermostatic mixing valves for this purpose. Available at any large hardware store. Some boat water heaters have these built in.

The safest is an "anti scald valve" , as it will shut off the water flow if the output is too hot

A tempering valve will still pass scalding water should the cold supply not be sufficient.
