So I have just got my the heat exchanger repaired for my Webasto. The System Heat/Engine Heat switch light not working. All other systems check out.

Is this light diagnostic in some way or is it just a case of the LED not working?

I taked to Sure Marine and they said to check it with a volt meter. If it it's got 12 volts going to it when the system is switched on, then it's the light that is failed, otherwise it's not wired correctly.

SOunds right. I've got that same switch on my boat. I assume the light recently stopped working, or has it always been broken? I ask because wiring tends not to come undone or change on its own. Not impossible, but it seems low probability for wiring in an unexposed location.

Yes, it used to work. It crapped out around the same time as the Webasto died (corroded exhaust pipe on the heat exchanger). We are going out on the boat tomorrow to test the engine heat option. The nasty is working now but the light isn't. Apparently it's a simple fix if it's the light as only the light needs to be fixed.
