Probably not of much interest to this audience, but one of the real innovators in large yacht design has closed their U.S. operation and is moving to Europe. One of the highlights of my annual trek through Sturgeon Bay was to get a peek at the latest outrageous super yacht design sitting at their pier. I suspect that the move away from aluminum to carbon fiber hull material had something to do with the closure. The latest carbon fiber Super Sport hulls were fabricated in Europe and shipped to the U.S. for completion. A grand old U.S. company with a long heritage....
