I have the Blue Sea VSM 422 installed on the boat and it has been great until this spring. We put new house bank batteries on the boat and now the amp hours remaining do strange things.
It will show the amp hours remaining counting down like a stop watch...that fast. My first reaction was a short somewhere. I have eliminated that possibility. When I put a multi meter on the batteries they show an amp draw of 5 for example. The VSM 422 shows the same, but the amp hours roll down like crazy.
I have removed all load from the DC system. Disconnected the batteries and disconnect the DC shunt. I have even disconnected the DC shunt wires going into the panel.
One day, it will read correctly. The next day, with nothing changed, the amp hours count down like crazy.
Anyone have a similar problem with this panel?
