That is just plain stupid. Let the CG escort the local charter boats in and out so they can make a living. No reason to close it completely. The CG boats are already there, doing what??, let them do escort duty. The local charter capt's are not idiots, show them the hazard, have them go slow, let them make a living.

probably agree...just don't know if there is some other reason it is staying closed.

served with a lot of desk jockeys in my career....even guys with a lot of sea time had little small vessel experience.

Still limited, open yes but a bit of a narrow stretch (if entering at night or in weather use caution for sure).

Barge is still sunk in the channel.
