    All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures

    Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:

    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

Having replaced the Claw with an Ultra I am blessed with an extra anchor that is free to anyone promising to give it a good home. Located in Mount Vernon, WA. The galvanizing is pretty good, although there is some beginning discoloration on the tip. This one is an early Lewmar, so is pretty stout as far as I know. 80kg.
 
What a great deal! Wish I lived closer and had a bigger boat and windlass!!

Yup. We have one season with it, and I am mightily impressed. The Claw worked fine and held the boat in some pretty nasty conditions, but I can feel a difference with the Ultra. It bites immediately, and doesn't want to come up like the Claw. I also have scratches in the stainless on top of the shank, which would only get their if it buried itself completely, and all in all, I prefer a burying anchor to any other design.
 
Got any pics of the Ultra?

I think I know what it is but not sure. Does it have a hollow and streamlined shank? If that's it it's a real work of art. I think I pronounced it the most beautiful anchor in the world once. Nice of course that it works too.

Yes, that's the one Eric. The shank is hollow, but it has longitudinal reinforcement for strengthening. I thought some of what the manufacturer said about it was marketing hype, but now I think I can taste the Koolaid. The tip droops down, and the underside is convex, which I guess compresses the sea bed ahead of the tip as it digs in and buries. The top side of the fluke is flat to slightly concave, so once buried, it is like a Danforth in terms of resistance to dragging. The tip is lead filled and because it is stainless, regalvanizing and melting the lead out isn't an issue. Way too expensive, but I was fortunate in the purchase.
