Just from car forums, people would always put there current cars in their signatures and some would put their previously owned cars. I think it is interesting to see what people have "gone through" and it gives you an idea of the kind of experience they have. Anyway, just thought I would give it a try. I did not include my sailboats!

Mine would be pretty boring;

Looks great guys...the idea was to put it into your signature at the bottom of the page. But all good. I think it is really cool to see peoples' boats over their "career"....;)

Coming from years of "car sites", I kind of figured that's what you meant, but I just followed suit:D

Crap! I wish I could remember all of my Uncles hull numbers:facepalm::rofl:

I don't think I'll add mine to my regular signature, might make me feel pretentious…
Like…
1. Large leaky wooden box, good for two trips across farm dam before haul-out. Unstable, tipped out & trod on many eels.
2. Large doughnut shaped 7' inflatable, essentially a Euclid inner tube encased in canvass. Merc 4hp. Worked ok powered, went round in circles rowed.
3. Tasman 20' Trailer yacht, Merc 4hp, same motor as above.

If either of my grandmothers had an outboard motor I would consider it very relevant.:socool:

For a signature I'd just like to see roughly where people live. A state is better than small towns.
Or a Province or a country.
Where a person lives frequently has a lot to do w what you might say to them.
And if you list some small town 1000 miles from me I won't have the vaguest idea where it is.
Thanks in advance.

My previous trawler was a 25' Swedish Albin.

Growing up in the midwest, we had more motors than boats. Back then, you'd bring your motor(s) to the fishing lodge where your motorless fishing boat awaited you outside your fishing cabin. You'd strap your motors onto the boat, load your rods, tackle boxes and rain gear and take off in fishing bliss. It was Men Only. In the evening while the Dads were hanging out smoking and drinking, the boys would take the boats out and REALLY learn about the finer skills of boating.

My high school years were filled with memories of weekend camping/fishing trips with Dad's 5 horse Johnson at countless campgrounds with the HS Sportsmen's Club. If that motor could talk, I never would have survived my high school years!!

My family owned a Johnson Seahorse 16hp and a Seahorse 5hp motor. The 16HP was so big and heavy that we kept it in a crate and would ship it ahead to the fishing lodge weeks before our arrival. I recently saw a Johnson Seahorse 5 in a museum in Beaufort, NC. Made me feel especially old!

So my signature bio would have to include boat motors. The story would be lost on most readers...

Eric, I agree. Below your avatar is the best place to share this information. With input from around the world- it does add a cool element to each post, knowing some one else's boating region can be so different than mine. Example- anchoring. We either have sand or mud. 15 feet of water would be a deep anchorage for our area. 1-2 foot tidal range. And a mechanical windlass for me is not a burden. ....Sorry- starting to hijack the thread;).I think Bakers intention was to show what so much of us have done. Steady incriments of larger boats. AND- if you have arrived at the size and style that finally keeps you satisfied!
