Oven Lightbulb

I have a 2008-ish Princess Gourmet 3-burner ceramic top stove and oven. Model 3347 / S/N: 652078. Mfg Code: J-07. 240V 2 wire.

Just bought boat with existing burned out oven bulb = "GE Hungary H8 40W 120V 415 Lumens". Maybe it never worked as it was 120V???!

Per the manual I need: E27/26 40W 240V Oven heat resistant bulb (Princess #72336 light bulb). I can't seem to find a bulb with these specs.

Quick google search for 240 volt oven light bulbs found this one on Amazon. It is only 25 watt but that should still work.

This one is said to be an E27 base.

I don't know if an E14 base is the same as an E27.

I read that an E14 bulb base has a diameter of 14mm. An E27 bulb base is 27mm in diameter. I don't think they fit correctly in the same socket.

Why buy the E14 bulb when you need the E27 bulb?

27mm is a touch larger than one inch. 14mm is a touch larger than 1/2 inch. (25mm vs 12.5mm). Take the bulb out and look, standard household bulbs are the 27mm size. Any hardware store should have both in 120v, 240v might be harder to find in the US. If you can't find it local you'll probably find it on Amazon.

The "E14" part of the number probably means it's an Edison 14mm. He needs the 27mm but they probably have that one too.

Maybe the bulb really is good and the switch or wiring is bad. Screw the bulb into a regular light socket, it should at least glow even though it's 240 volt. Half as bright as a 120 volt bulb would be. Can't go the other way around, though. Put a 120 volt bulb in a 240 volt socket and you'll make smoke.

Yup, the 120v E27 popped when turned on due to too much voltage. Definitely need an E27, 240V bulb. Not easy to find in US. Nothing on Amazon or any bulb website yet. Tons of 120v out there though.

Try this one. I searched "220 volt E27 oven bulb" on Amazon. 220 is the US equivalent to euro 240, it's close enough.
