making new circuits from a dc distributing box

I'm going to use a 10g fuse holder on the battery side. On the heater side, if the red wire is 14g or lower, then there is no added benefit for using a 10g fuse holder, right?

making new circuits from a dc distributing box

Does a 14g fuse holder drop more voltage than a 10g fuse holder? The appliances has an ECU ic inside. Does this require a fast acting type of fuse?

making new circuits from a dc distributing box

is there a way to estimate the gauge of a wire to know what size of connectors to use? I need to shorten the red wire and extend the wire to pump. For the extension i can use some barrier block that does not require connectors. But to shorten the red wire I'd like to use a butt splice terminal...

making new circuits from a dc distributing box

The fuse is near the battery to protect the wire loom and battery in case of short circuit due to chafe. The heater's fuse does not work for this purpose. I mean the gauge of the fuse holder. they matched the 10g fuse holder with 40A fuse, 14g fuse holder with 15A fuse. if new circuit uses 10g...

making new circuits from a dc distributing box

I also want to add a fuse near the dc distribution box. does a fuse's gauge need to match the wire gauge? WM has an inline waterproof fuse holder, but it's compatible with 12-16g wires only. I didn't see a similar holder for 10g wires. does this 14g fuse work?

making new circuits from a dc distributing box

I want to source power from a dc distributing hub located on the portside. This hub is close to where the appliance (diesel heater) will be installed. This hub supplies power to the bow and stern thrusters. I have some ancor 10awg wires from amazon. The heat shrink terminals that I have are...

I have a Bauer 5.7A short throw random orbit da polisher, it has a 6 in backing plate that supports up to 8" hook and loop polishing pad. I learnt some common pads from your video link and this post but those are 9" pads, so I was looking for smaller like 6" pads.

does let the "gelcoat kick" = wait for ~5 minutes (for the gelcoat to set up) ? "...just use waxed gelcoat each time and start fresh without worrying about cleaning sprayer tips" -- I didn't get it. should it be "unwaxed" here? if waxed gelcoat make the tip difficult to clean, then it is...

    Scratches on swim platform

I was searching if there is PVA in a small spray pump like you mentioned. The one I found from amazon has bad rating about pva is too thick and it only squirts a small stream rather than a mist. But one feedback confirmed a PreVal sprayer can be used to spray PVA. so I can get Preval spare...

    Scratches on swim platform

@STB I think the "... 4 or 5 thin coats" are applied continuously. The boatus video tutorial at 6:08 shows 3 layers applied continuously. or do you mean to wait for each layer to cure, then clean and sand using 220grit to 320 grit before spraying the next coat?

    24mm exhaust through hull fitting

Some manufacturers cut corners like this: the left one was purchased 10 years ago, the right one is a recent buy. I don't know if the cheaper through hull fitting also has less material. But it looks identical to the Heatso one in the picture.

The price is hard to pass. It also has good feedback. I will buy this Wayska.

    24mm exhaust through hull fitting

I didn't get where the difference is. I would have put Wayska into my cart if I had seen it. both are pretty much the same product, $2 diff does not separate the tiers.

    24mm exhaust through hull fitting

For this fitting, I planned to buy VTurboWay Stainless Steel 316, then I saw this fitting is over 4 times more expensive at Heatso what's the reason people would buy this from Heatso at a premium?

    fridge "dripping tray" frozen

after a long quiet phase, there would be a ticking sound followed by a noisy humming phrase, I always think this is the compressor running. The fridge was just humming for 15 minutes, and has became quiet again. the time clock on this whirlpool model is behind a panel at the back.

    fridge "dripping tray" frozen

I sat close to the fridge for a couple of house. it was being humming for some period then enter a quiet phase. i guess the humming was when the compressor was running, then the fridge becomes quiet when it enters the defrosting phase, the defrost phase is much longer than 20 minutes. i think...
