    New Member from PNW

We loved our GB36. Wonderful boats! Depending on the year, window leaks could be an issue with wooden frames, no so much if metal. Very safe, comfortable cruisers! Access to twin lehmans can be a bit tight if you are taller. Daily visits to Dr Lehman below decks helps keep one limber and helps...

    Looking to purchase Willard/fales

I have a friend with a 1977 30’ Mk IV that I think he is selling. Recently repowered with a Beta diesel. What is your target budget? The boat is in LaConner, WA.

    Is Autopilot Necessary In PNW?

We owned a 1974 GB 36 and found the AP to be a very handy tool for us. We could still maintain our watch from the fly bridge on the lower helm safely and felt it gave us less stress in cruising. 6 hour cruises just felt so much easier and had less physical toll at the end of the day. We were in...

    San Juan Islands Cruise

When we owned a Willard 30 we used the steadying/stay sail when crossing the Strait of Georgia and it worked fantastic on our boat when taking beam seas. We did not need to tack like the other vessels crossing the straits. Made the ride very comfortable, kind of a rocking horse motion when on...

Where are you planning to cruise. We owned a GB 36 for years and cruised up the inside passage some. Depending on your year, check for windows and deck leaking. An engine survey will give you an indication of possible issues, depending on the surveyor. Try to connect with other GB owners and...

Suggestions for 6 days/nights Gulf Islands / San Juan area?

Maple Bay is a nice funky marina with shuttle service to Duncan and a great town walk viewing all the Totems there. Cowichan Bay is a wonderful little village with Bus Service to Duncan as well. The totems are really worth the minimal effort to get to them.

    Training Captain recommendations?

When my wife and I started out we signed up for a 3 day bare boat charter class through Anacortes Yacht Charters. I had read every nook I could find and watched a lot of videos but had never piloted a LRC before. This class was just perfect for us. It went through navigation, docking...

    New boat to us

I would suggest taking a Bare Boat Charter class with all people taking the class together. That way everyone can learn more about what it takes to run a vessel like you are interested in owning. We did this several years ago with Anacortes Yacht Charters in Anacortes and it was invaluable to...
