THEQUALIFIEDCAPTAIN on Instagram: "Crazy crash in Monaco today!! Nobody was onboard or hurt. VERY lucky!!! Properly wearing an engine cut off switch would have prevented this! Please wear them. Consider buying the wireless options if you don’t want to wear the lanyard. 📸 @daltonsargeant...

    Need a new or rebuilt turbocharger-----Volvo TAMD63L

I would call these guys mainly because they're in Oceanside. Turbocharger Rebuild Service (Standard) The tricky part about rebuilding a turbo is the balancing upon reassembly. Pretty important for something that lives at 100,000 RPM. My other thought is that at such low hours the turbo may be...

    N/A vs forced induction

That weight is typical for an old-school 120hp 6-cylinder diesel. The similar Perkins 6.354 tips in at 1225 lbs, minus the transmission. The Gardner 6LW that only makes 112hp lists its weight at 0.67 tons.

    McMaster-Carr

For many years I received the coveted 'yellow bible', each time a bit larger. When they stopped automatically mailing it, I only needed to call and request one. The previous year's version was passed on to the colleague who most deserved it!

    VW TDI service repair manual

I have personally rebuilt a 4 cylinder VW TDI (ALH) 1.9L auto engine. Many of the details are shared between the various engine models. I don't know what exactly you need to accomplish but none of it is rocket science. :)

    Steadying sail design/rigging?

I can assure you that most sailors prefer to raise sails while luffing (pointing into the wind) to minimize the effort needed to overcome the friction of the hanks or cars and track. Setting, which to me means trimming, happens as you fall off onto a chosen course.

    CASH???

My credit union cordially counted out $9500 for a recent used camper purchase. I would not have been pleased if they'd had the slightest hesitation. It's business. The sellers had requested cash as many private sellers will. All parties were happy.

    Steadying sail design/rigging?

Your mast is rather short for using with a steadying sail. Don't expect much thrust. A local sailmaker or marine 'recycling' (used goods) store might have used sails that can be recut to fit that geometry. Used sailboat hardware like sail track, cars and sheaves can be found to keep your...

    Nordhavn 46 for sale.

Curious about these conflicting specs: (4) fuel tanks of mild steel in very good condition totaling 950 gallons. Then at the bottom of your sale page: 950 Gal (GRP) FUEL.

    Music favs

Thank you Rich, I'm still fairly spry but I once told my wife to play this song if she ever throws a wake for me! I've never heard a Tom Waits song I didn't enjoy and have seen him live a few times.

    Suggestions needed for removal

Just because the tube is stainless doesn't prevent you welding a cap on it for a slide hammer attachment. TIG weld on a flat stainless plate with a threaded hole. As you already noted, the good news is that you got it to move a few inches.

Did Water Enter My Engine Via Exhaust?

Very happy that your engine stayed dry but merely looking into the intake side of the turbo is no proof (for next time). There is no way to see into the exhaust side from the intake side.
