Thanks for the response. I'm hearing mixed reviews of the reservation system... some saying not much different than the prior "system" where you show up and may / may not get thru at all in AM or PM as "scheduled". Others report showing up and getting put thru w/o a reservation and at...
We have cruised the St Lawrence at a leisurely pace and before the current "scheduled" recreational lock schedule system was implemented.

If the confirmation of prop not spinning on hub is that it rotates with short bursts while out of the water... there could be just enough drag /ingagement to spin the prop with no load.
My thinking is prop could spin w/o load but with load not spin or only slowly and not provide thrust.
Have you...
Not familiar with key power but SidePower recommends AGAINST anything other than a brief burst when out of water.
Yours likely has a shear pin somewhere in the drive that connects the prop to the drive.
Look for applicable manual or call the mfg or dealer
The 34T / HTs used a SouthCo latch that looks like these.
Handled by several sources... by searching South Co push/ pull latch. Just be careful to measure as there are two sizes.
If that's not it a pic might click with others that have replaced theirs...

I have read great things about Tenara and similar threads. I was working down my inventory of Poly and decided to sell my complete sewing shop. I would have liked to try it but never did. I certainly will make it a point with the buyer as he is a long time family boated, has 2 boats & an RV...

I recently tried to attach a PDF file to a post but was faced with an error msg that only picture files were allowed. Have we lost the ability to post PDF's?
I went back to a very old post and found the same PDF file attached to the old thread but now find its no longer allowed??
Squidward Here is a link to a DIY canvas thread I started years ago... it may be helpful but warning it grew to 10 pages with more interest than I ever expected. It also contains the vinyl replacement method as a PDF file that can be downloaded...
Here is what I have done when replacing vinyl for myself & others... IMO opinion it is worth the extra time to have a professional looking job vs an inferior looking result.

I started DIY canvas work with an old Singer but ran into problems with multi layers and expect you will have the same difficulty with clear vinyl. The issue isn't enough power to pierce the goods it that the feed is not uniform and results in N uneven stitches. Most pros and I believe Sailrite...
Woody Wax for us. I apply sparingly, especially on areas I walk on regularly. Other non- skid areas that I seldom walk on I apply sparingly but just let dry w/o rinsing. Does a good job of releasing dirt & stains to keep non-skid cleaner w less scrubbing.
On my SidePower it was a plug. & play addition. I did need a wiring harness to allow placement a little away from other electronics but rather easy. If it's a Sidezpower let me know as there was a trick that helped.
Is it your experience or just not knowing orvtrusting the boat?
I agree w Dave in that the trip is a fantastic one. You might consider spending a bit of time on the other end getting familiar and gaining confidence. Of course, it dependsnon whether you have the time available. If you want to...
I'm with Ted... if single handing is a high priority a helm door will make it lots easier. You may need to prioritize your musts and rank your wants to decide where best to compromise to suit your style of cruising.
My MS is a single but the prop tunnel cancels much of the prop walk. I do have B...
